Club Gymslic

ABOUT us

The Club

For over 30 years, Club Gymslic Saint-Laurent has been offering artistic gymnastics programs throughout the borough of Saint-Laurent. Every year, over 880 children aged 16 months to 16 years take part in our preschool, recreational and competitive programs.

our Mission

To promote and facilitate the development of artistic gymnastics throughout the borough of Saint-Laurent at the preschool, recreational and competitive levels, while following the programs established by Gymnastics Canada and the Fédération de gymnastique du Québec.

To foster a sense of community among Club Gymslic members based on respect, personal accomplishment and the joy of physical activity.

history

Club Gymslic was officially incorporated as a non-profit organization in 1985, but had already begun operating a few years earlier. Its programs were offered in temporary facilities located in the Émile-Legault pavilion of the Saint-Laurent high school.

In 2010, Club Gymslic moved to the Saint-Laurent YMCA thanks to the generosity of the borough of Saint-Laurent. The Club now has access to larger permanent facilities, enabling it to grow considerably and eventually double its membership.

For summer 2017, Gymslic is moving to a new palestra installed in the new Saint-Laurent sports complex, enabling the Club to expand its facilities and offer more services to a greater number of young people.

The Club is affiliated with the Fédération de gymnastique du Québec (FGQ), a provincial organization that aims to develop, regulate, promote and ensure the safety of gymnastics activities.

equipment

For summer 2017, the Club has access to a brand-new palestra at the Saint-Laurent sports complex, located on Thimens Boulevard, between Saint-Laurent high school and Raymond Bourque arena. The borough of Saint-Laurent plans to have these new facilities certified LEED Gold.

This large gymnastics palestra, located on the top floor of the building, boasts quality facilities perfectly suited to gymnastics, with beams, bars, a spring exercise floor, an aerobatic table, a large trampoline, an Acrotramp linear trampoline, as well as a landing pit integrated directly into the floor. Everything has been designed for optimum safety and ideal conditions for gymnastics!
